Nadiadwala makes sure bets on three new talents

Nadiadwala makes sure bets on three new talentsMay 09, 2006
Mumbai, May 9 (IANS) Film producer Sajid Nadiadwala, who believes in the credo 'no guts no glory', has invested Rs.1 billion in three new directors -- Shirish Kunder, Sajid Khan and Sabir Khan.
'I am competitive by nature and as a child I used to hate to lose. That competitive streak may have helped me in becoming a successful producer. It is a calculated risk but I know I am on a winning streak. I am looking forward to these three new talents to make their mark in the industry,' Nadiadwala told IANS.Unlike other producers who launch freshers with a small budget movie, Nadiadwala has provided the three new directors a big canvas and an impressive cast.Kunder's much-awaited directorial debut 'Jaaneman' has Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta and has shaped up well. Sajid Khan's 'Hey Baby' also boasts of an impressive cast -- Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Fardeen Khan and Riteish Deshmukh. And Sabir Khan's untitled film will have a huge canvas as well. Incidentally, while Kunder is choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan's husband, Sajid Khan is her brother. With most of his films, including 'Jeet', 'Judwaa', 'Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega' and 'Mujshe Shaadi Karogi' proving to be blockbusters, it looks like Nadiadwala's new investments will pay off handsomely.
